Which Oils Are Best for Anti-Aging?

A few years ago, I innocently wandered into a shop to get my favorite moisturizer. The smiling lady behind the counter took a look at me, and volunteered gleefully: “You know, women our age should try anti-aging creams to prevent aging skin.” I stared horrified at her. The mere thought of having to prevent my skin from aging had not crossed my mind at that point, nor had I any intention of following her up on her suggestions.

Fast forward a few years, I have skipped most of the skin products from shops, and instead, I use oils and green products to nourish my health, skin, and wellbeing. However, there are so many recommendations out there that it can be hard to know where to start.

Just for the record, I always combine frankincense with shea butter every morning and evening. My best advice is to test out what suits you best. If you are anything like me, you’d be here quite a while trying to list all the different oils you know; from the oils, you can consume to the oils which help your skin from aging quickly. But which oils are best for anti-aging? If you’re looking for some great natural oils that you can use to help your skin stay young, here are some of the products to try:

Essential oils

Argan oil

Just like it keeps your hair hydrated, argan oil will keep your skin hydrated too, so regular use on your body can contribute to anti-aging. 

Rosemary oil

This isn’t one of the most common oils, but rosemary oil is the perfect product if you’re looking for something to tighten up your skin naturally. You can also mix rosemary oil with other essential oils, and it will help to preserve it for longer, meaning that you can get more for your money and much more use from your oils. 

Coconut oil

Even if you aren’t bothered about aging, coconut oil is a great product which helps your skin and body in a number of ways. Full of Vitamin E, not only is it effective at preventing your skin from aging, but it can help to lessen the effects of stretch marks and other skin complaints. 

Lemon oil

This is a good oil to use if you have dark patches on your skin that you want to even out. However, you shouldn’t use lemon oil in large quantities or every single day, and it’s better when mixed in with another type of oil, such as coconut oil. 

Lavender oil

Are you looking for something to make your skin feel revitalised and reenergised? Lavender oil certainly does this, as well as its other great properties and benefits such as relief from insomnia. Lavender oil also has anti-inflammatory properties, so it can help with other skin complaints besides just anti-aging.

Avocado oil

Vitamins A and D are the primary nutrients in avocado oil and will help to give your skin a boost of collagen. It works well when used on your body since it is thicker than many other oils, but avoid using it on your face. Avocado oil is good for tightening up your skin and helping you to beat the effects of aging.
